01
Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the ROO Race Series website and related online services operated by Buckaroo Run Club LLC, doing business as ROO Race Series (“ROO Race Series,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using our website or submitting information through our online services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Participation in a ROO Race Series event may be subject to additional registration terms, participant waivers and releases, event rules, safety requirements, and other agreements. Those additional terms apply separately and, where applicable, govern participation in the event.
02
Eligibility and Lawful Use
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement to use services requiring such agreement. Minors may participate in eligible events only with the involvement and authorization of a parent or legal guardian and subject to applicable event requirements.
You agree to use our website and services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
03
Event Registration
Registration for individual ROO Race Series events may be administered through third-party platforms such as UltraSignup.
Participants are responsible for providing accurate registration information, selecting the correct event, reviewing applicable race requirements, and complying with registration deadlines and event-specific rules.
Submitting a registration does not eliminate any requirement to execute a participant waiver, release, acknowledgement of risk, or other event-specific agreement.
04
Third-Party Registration and Payment
Third-party providers may process registrations and payments on behalf of ROO Race Series.
Your use of those services is also governed by the applicable provider's terms and privacy practices.
Buckaroo Run Club LLC does not directly collect or store complete payment-card information submitted directly through a third-party registration provider.
05
Race Rules and Participant Responsibilities
Participants are responsible for reviewing and following the rules, instructions, course requirements, cutoff times, equipment requirements, safety procedures, and other requirements applicable to their event.
Participants must follow reasonable instructions provided by race officials, medical personnel, course personnel, landowners, volunteers, law enforcement, or other authorized event personnel.
ROO Race Series may disqualify or remove a participant from an event where reasonably necessary to enforce race rules, address unsafe behavior, protect the event or others, or respond to violations of applicable requirements.
06
Assumption of Risk and Participant Waivers
Running, ultrarunning, trail running, endurance competition, outdoor recreation, and attendance at endurance events involve inherent and other risks, including serious injury, illness, property damage, and death.
Participation in a ROO Race Series event may require acceptance of a separate participant waiver, release of liability, assumption-of-risk agreement, or similar document during registration or before participation.
These website Terms are not intended to replace any event-specific participant waiver or release.
Participants are responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically prepared to participate in the event they enter.
07
Event Changes, Postponement and Cancellation
Endurance events may be affected by weather, wildfire, smoke, trail or road conditions, land-access restrictions, government action, emergencies, safety concerns, permitting issues, or other circumstances outside ROO Race Series's reasonable control.
ROO Race Series reserves the right to modify a course, schedule, start time, format, aid-station plan, event requirement, or other operational aspect of an event when reasonably necessary.
An event may also be postponed, suspended, shortened, relocated, or cancelled where reasonably necessary for safety, legal, operational, or other significant reasons.
Any refund, credit, deferral, or transfer available following such a change will be governed by the registration/refund policy applicable to that event and applicable law.
08
Refunds, Transfers and Deferrals
Registration refund, transfer, deferral, and cancellation rules may vary by event and will be communicated through the applicable registration page or event-specific policy.
Participants are responsible for reviewing those terms before registering.
Unless expressly permitted by ROO Race Series or the applicable registration platform, registrations may not be transferred, assigned, sold, or otherwise provided to another participant.
09
Results and Timing
Race results may be based on official timing records, manual records, course records, Backyard yard counts, race-official determinations, or other appropriate event records.
Live or preliminary results are unofficial and may change.
ROO Race Series may correct results where reasonably necessary to address timing errors, data-entry errors, penalties, disqualifications, course issues, or other circumstances affecting the accuracy of event results.
Official results, once finalized, serve as the source of truth for awards and ROO-administered competitions unless specific competition rules provide otherwise.
10
Crew Showdown and Special Competitions
ROO Race Series may operate competitions, challenges, awards, promotions, or special programs in connection with its events, including Crew Showdown.
These programs may be governed by additional published rules addressing eligibility, scoring, roster requirements, deadlines, tiebreakers, prizes, verification, and other competition-specific matters.
Participation in such a program constitutes agreement to its applicable published rules in addition to these Terms.
If competition-specific rules conflict with these general Terms on a matter specifically addressed by those rules, the competition-specific rules control for that competition.
11
Photography, Video and Event Media
ROO Race Series events may be photographed, filmed, livestreamed, or otherwise recorded.
Event-specific registration documents, participant waivers, releases, or notices may contain additional provisions governing the capture and use of participant likenesses, names, voices, photographs, video, or other media.
Nothing in these website Terms replaces any separate media release or participant agreement applicable to an event.
12
Volunteers
Volunteers must follow reasonable instructions from ROO Race Series personnel and comply with applicable event, venue, course, safety, and conduct requirements.
Volunteer participation may be subject to additional acknowledgements, waivers, releases, or requirements.
13
Intellectual Property
The ROO Race Series, ROO Ultra, Buckaroo and related names, logos, event branding, photography, graphics, copy, video, website design, and other original materials are owned by Buckaroo Run Club LLC or their respective licensors, as applicable, and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
We do not claim ownership of third-party trademarks or materials appearing on the website.
You may access website content for personal, noncommercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit, falsely associate yourself with, or misleadingly use our intellectual property without applicable permission.
14

You agree not to:
- Use the website or services for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, systems, accounts, or data.
- Introduce malicious software or code.
- Interfere with website security or normal operation.
- Use automated methods that place unreasonable load on the website or improperly harvest its content or data.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, registration, crew affiliation, or relationship with ROO Race Series.
- Submit fraudulent race, volunteer, or competition information.
- Attempt to manipulate race results, Crew Showdown scoring, registrations, or other competition systems.
- Use ROO Race Series intellectual property in a misleading or unauthorized commercial manner.
15
Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may use or link to services operated by third parties, including UltraSignup and other registration, timing, mapping, communications, media, or event-related providers.
We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their independent content, availability, security, terms, or privacy practices.
16
Email and SMS Communications
If you voluntarily subscribe to marketing emails or text messages, you may unsubscribe or opt out according to the instructions provided in those communications.
Consent to optional marketing communications is not a condition of registering for an event.
Participants may still receive operational communications reasonably necessary to administer an event for which they are registered.
17
Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information in connection with the website and our operations is described in the ROO Race Series Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
18
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website and online services are provided “as is” and “as available.”
We do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available.
Event information, schedules, course information, participant lists, results, and other website content may be corrected or updated as circumstances change.
Nothing on the website constitutes individualized medical, health, safety, or professional advice.
19
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Buckaroo Run Club LLC and ROO Race Series will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to use of the website or online services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Liability and risk associated with actual participation in an event may also be addressed by separate participant waivers, releases, registration agreements, or other event-specific terms.
20
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Buckaroo Run Club LLC from claims, losses, liabilities, or expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your unlawful use of the website or services, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another party's rights.
Any indemnification or release associated specifically with participation in an event may be addressed separately in the applicable participant agreement or waiver.
21
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles and without limiting rights that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law.
22
General Provisions
Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent permitted by law.
Waiver. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
Entire Agreement. These Terms and policies incorporated by reference constitute the agreement governing use of the ROO Race Series website and online services. Separate race registrations, participant waivers, competition rules, or other event-specific agreements may create additional obligations concerning participation.
23
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as our website, events, operations, or applicable requirements change.
Changes become effective when posted, and the “Last updated” date identifies the most recent revision.
